On paper, January 28th, 2012 doesn’t seem that long ago, but it’s crazy when you look back at pictures and see how much Tiger has grown. This past weekend, we re-visited BCD Tofu House (I think that’s what it’s called) in Fort Lee, after not going there for awhile (it’s about a 30 minute drive). This time around, Tiger’s all grown-up and actually enjoyed his, which was music to our ears…now if only we can get him to eat his veggies.

Three’s a Charm
What a day! It started several weeks back, as Supermom decided to throw a Superhero-sized birthday party for Tiger at school. In doing so, Supermom made capes for 21 boys and girls, baked cupcakes, made flyers, personalized name tags, and even had time to order pizza for the class and teachers. With all this work, it’s no wonder Tiger had a great day at school.
After school, Tiger insisted that we go eat at a specific Vietnamese restaurant…go figure. After dinner came the ice cream and the gifts, both of which, Tiger loved.
It’s unbelievable that today marks three years since he was born, and what an amazing three years it’s been. Happy birthday Tiger…we love you!
Sweetness
Tiger loved trick-or-treating! It took him awhile to get over his initial shyness when approaching strangers, but after the fourth or fifth house, he got the hang of it. We ended up trick-or-treating for about an hour, with a quick stop at Starbucks in-between (that was for Daddy). I’ve got to admit…the houses we visited in both Mt. Tabor and Denville were all very welcoming, which made it that much funner for Tiger. Good times!
California Dreamin’
I’ve got to be honest…I’m still thinking about our recent trip last week to California. Maybe it’s having to go back to work so soon, maybe it’s just the nostalgia from being in familiar surroundings, or maybe…it’s almost time to go back.
We clearly had a great time. From meeting up with friends in both LA and SD, to seeing Tiger enjoy ever second of the day with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents, it was simply a great weekend. We actually managed to go to a wedding while we were there as well! Talk about a busy weekend.
Now onto the pictures…
There’s just something that feels right when you see your child interacting with his grandparents and vice versa.
Why can’t everyday be spent eating a healthy lunch, then enjoying the beach?
I’m sure we gained a few pounds (as we should) on this vacation. Here’s just a sampling of our recent good eats (we still didn’t get to go to Luscious Dumplings again)
The animals were loose in the zoo, as the 6 adults managed to wrangle 4 kids to the world famous theme park.
Tiger’s first time in the swimming pool came courtesy of H&H’s pool and after a tiring day at the zoo.
What trip to California would be complete without an evening alone without Tiger? Thanks to his aunt and uncle, we were able to getaway for a few hours to celebrate our 4-year wedding anniversary (don’t worry, we ate more than the two pictures shown below, it’s just the pictures didn’t come out too good).
Although Tiger seems to be ready to board the airplane back to NJ, for the first time since we’ve been traveling back to California, he threw a tantrum going home. In his exact words, “I don’t want to go back to New Jersey!”. Ahhh, I think my Tiger’s onto something.
Sticks, Stones, and Clifford
Back a few weeks ago, we took Tiger to Stickley Museum and Craftsman Farms. We always saw the sign for this farm, as it’s probably walking distance from our home, but we never really thought to pay a visit to the farm. Since they were holding a family event that particular day, and mainly since the Big Red Dog was going to be there, we thought it’d be nice to take Tiger for a visit.
The biggest hit with Tiger was clearly (in order), Clifford, alien cow balloon with 3-eyes, cinnamon doughnut, tractor ride, and lastly, everything else.
If I get a chance sometime later on, I’ll post a video of Tiger’s first encounter with Clifford, which clearly shows what true excitement looks like.
Random Catch-ups
Seeing that it’s getting harder and harder to consistently post new pictures (mainly due to work, football, and Final Fantasy), here are a couple of random pictures spanning July and August. Enjoy.
We finally went shopping to get Tiger a new bed, and surprisingly, he loved it! Although it took an entire weekend to find the right bed and to setup his room, it was totally worth it.
Tiger at his first visit to Pump it Up!. It was a charity event for Autism Speaks, so it was a win-win situation for everyone.
One of Tiger’s multiple trips to Turtleback Zoo. They have a new sea lion and sting ray exhibit which Tiger loved.
Hmmm, it really makes you wonder how strong that piece of glass is that’s standing between the black bear and Tiger.
This red panda definitely has the right idea…#restisgood
Nothing like eating a red bean and ice cream sandwich after a long afternoon at the Zoo.
Our first National Night Out event near Morristown. I’m still not exactly sure why the event is actually held, but there were free hot dogs (I ate 3) and drinks, so I’m not complaining.
Tiger’s definitely starting to like swords now…I wonder if it has anything to do with him watching me play Final Fantasy?
Just Tiger hanging out on the weekend at the local shopping center and toy store. I’m shocked that toy store hasn’t refused to let us in the door, considering how much time we spend in there without actually buying anything.
