Spoiled Rotten

In the past three years, it’s hard to find a time when Tiger has gotten more attention in NJ, then what he just received last week from his aunts and uncle. From eating great meals at Denville Seafood, to Luke’s, to Peter Luger’s, then to the Princeton Communiversity, not only did Tiger receive constant attention, he also had his share of fine foods.

We love having guests around the house as Tiger’s face lights up even more than it usually does. After a week of fun trips to both NYC, PA, and in NJ, our living room becomes quiet (without the sound of Game of Thrones) and mama and dada both agree that we definitely saw Tiger grow-up a bit more this past week. Whether it was the presence of wonderful company, or just Tiger maturing, we both know that almost three and a half years have gone by way too quickly.

Happy Egg Day

Happy Easter! After Tiger’s soccer practice yesterday, we decided to swing by a park in Chester, NJ to have some good ol’ clean, Easter egg hunting fun. Little did we know, parents were also involved in the hunt, which made it a free-for-all for the kids. Lucky for us, Tiger has a mom who doesn’t mind shoving a kid or two down to the ground to get some eggs (this didn’t happen…at least I don’t think it did).

Blossoming Right Before Our Eyes

We just recently found out about the Essex County Bloomfest (which showcases the County’s cherry blossom trees), but not so recently, have we been quickly finding out that our little Tiger is growing up way too fast. Perhaps it’s because of his first soccer practice this weekend, or maybe it’s because his unique personality is on display for us everyday, or just possibly, it’s because I’m about to turn 30(-ish), but it just seems like the last three and a half years have zoomed by.

There’s so many things to be thankful for and as we’re cleaning-up the house preparing for Baby Horse, you can’t help but to look back at the pictures and videos of the past three-plus years and smile.

Looking for Lobster in All the Right Places

For our second visit to DUMBO (see our first visit here), we were in search of some lobster, but not just any lobster. We needed to go to Luke’s, and when we found it, we ate, we walked, then we ate again.

In the midst of this crazy food run over an hour away from home (I blame the Preggo), we were hoping to also visit the first weekend of Smorgasburg. Seeing that we completely misread the opening (it was across the River today), we conveniently stumbled across a great playground, and an excellent coffee shop. If we get our wish, hopefully we’ll be back in this area, Smorgasburg or not, in a few weeks when our friends come to visit.

Princeton Gets a Visit From a New Tiger

We wanted a relaxing day. We wanted to do something that we’ve never done before. Enter Princeton, NJ. Located about 45 minutes away, we packed up the car and decided to pay a visit. In the three years that we’ve been here, we’ve passed by Princeton several times, but never did we actually get out of the car to walk around (let alone plan a day trip to the prestigious college town).

Once we parked, we quickly took advantage of several shops that offered many good eats. As we tried to walk-off our grilled cheese sandwich, 3 scoops of ice cream, and coffee, we took little Tiger to visit the home of the Princeton Tigers (which we all agreed looked very much like the campus at Monster’s University).

As we made our way back to the parking garage to head home (after eating another 2 scoops of ice cream), we noticed a park in the distance (it seemed very far after walking roughly 2 miles already), so we thought it’d be nice to continue our stay since the weather was so favorable. For whatever reason, as kids, we never really played with kites, but Mama thought it seemed like a good idea to let Tiger try it out. Surprisingly, Mama actually was able to put the kite together, and even more surprising, Dada actually had enough energy left in his legs to get the kite airborne. With the kite in the air and Tiger smiling from ear to ear, Princeton seemed to have won over a future Tiger.

No More Snow

We finally got a break from the snow last weekend, so we took full advantage of it by going to Turtleback Zoo, Short Hills Mall, and Hapgoods. Hopefully we’ve seen the last of the snow (although the cold weather is still hanging around).
