Wassailia in New Jersey

Being that this was our first Christmas in New Jersey, we needed to make sure that Tiger enjoyed every minute of it. From California, to New Jersey, to Enchancia, there was no stopping the smile on Tiger’s face when he was opening his presents from Santa.

Successful Cancellation

So what do you do when your flight gets cancelled due to snow? You stay in your cozy home and enjoy some quality family time (shoveling snow doesn’t count).

Building our 1st gingerbread house. From looking at the box (and what we built), I’m going to say that it’s false advertisement.

Bah Humbug Scrolls

At Epcot Center, we went in search of every scroll located in each Country (which is harder than you may think). The problem was, two Countries didn’t finish putting up their scrolls (these scrolls are probably for a Christmas event in December). Can anyone guess which two scrolls we’re missing? The second question is, can anyone guess how long it took us to find out that our two remaining scrolls weren’t available for that particular Country?

(W)alt (D)uring (W)ork

Where to begin (fair warning that this is going to be a long post because of the pictures)? Two weeks ago, the Annual OpenText Conference in Orlando took place, in which techies converged to the JW/Ritz Carlton Hotels in Orlando to discuss all things OpenText. If you don’t believe it was a techie event, look no further than one of the guest speakers during the week…Mr. William Shatner. I’m sure for many in the audience, it was seeing their childhood hero on stage. Now onto the good stuff.

Tiger got his second go-around at Walt Disney World and this time, it was a huge success. A great idea came into the minds of Tiger’s parents (yes, we can have one once in awhile), when we purchased a WDW Season Pass for Mama. The reason this was a great idea was that Tiger could easily pass as being under 3-years old, which meant the two of them could go to as many parks as they could manage in a 7-day period (while I attended the conference). Luckily for Tiger, that meant he got to go to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Apricot Center (what Tiger calls it).

Magic Kingdom
It’s the happiest place on earth! It’s even happier this time around because Tiger is barely tall enough this year to ride many of the rides. One of the rides that Tiger was able to experience was driving a race car…in which we found out quickly how much he really is like his mom (haha)! One of the coolest things we stumbled upon was a meet and greet with Mickey…but not just an ordinary Mickey, this one actually talked! You had to be there to see how cool it was.

Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom had some cool things, but unfortunately because I had a work dinner, we couldn’t stay too late at the park. The one big thing we missed was the Safari, which is probably the main reason to go to AK. The bright spot of the day was definitely watching the Finding Nemo musical…it’s a must-see and definitely worth the wait.

Hollywood Studios
Guess who got to take Tiger all by herself to Hollywood Studios? What a lucky mom! I’m sure Tiger was on his best behavior since he got to meet his favorite princess in the world…Princess Sophia.

Epcot Center
Epcot surprised me a bit. I knew the park was less for the kids and more for the adults, but I think in a way, the kids will like the calmness of this park. I also thought each country was well-thought out and next time, we’ll definitely try to taste more of the food. What was unbelievable was that we walked the entire round of countries, not once, but twice! We were just asking for all kinds of trouble after this day.

Downtown Disney, Swimming, and Bun Cua (I have no idea if this is what it’s called)
What trip would be complete if we didn’t also visit Downtown Disney. We took Tiger to eat at the T-Rex restaurant, which was cool…but definitely was a bit much considering the noise level that you have to endure for the entirety of the dinner. Other things that happened this week was that Tiger got to swim in a swimming pool and we tracked down a fairly decent Vietnamese restaurant in Downtown Orlando (of course this was Mama’s idea).

Same Food, Just All Grown-up

On paper, January 28th, 2012 doesn’t seem that long ago, but it’s crazy when you look back at pictures and see how much Tiger has grown. This past weekend, we re-visited BCD Tofu House (I think that’s what it’s called) in Fort Lee, after not going there for awhile (it’s about a 30 minute drive). This time around, Tiger’s all grown-up and actually enjoyed his, which was music to our ears…now if only we can get him to eat his veggies.
